Swimming deserves
smarter training.

ABOUT SWIMDNA

SwimDNA was built around a simple idea: no two swimmers are exactly alike, so their training shouldn’t be either.

WHY WE BUILT IT

Training plans shouldn’t be
one-size-fits-all.

Most swim training is static — built for an average swimmer who doesn’t exist. Apps often reduce training to pace calculators, generic workouts, or fixed programs.

Real coaching is different. It responds to the swimmer — their event, their goals, their fitness, their life, and how they’re actually performing.

SwimDNA was created to bring that thinking into an accessible training experience. Combining proven coaching principles with modern technology, we make personalized, adaptive training available to more swimmers.

Better training starts with
better thinking.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Our approach is guided by a few core principles. They’re simple, but they make a big difference — in how we build, how we coach, and how we help swimmers progress.

The athlete comes first.
Training begins with the swimmer in front of us — their goals, their context, and their potential.

Specificity matters.
A 50 swimmer, a distance swimmer, a Masters athlete, and an open-water swimmer do not need the same program.

Training has to adapt.
Fitness, recovery, performance, schedule, and life change. The plan should change with them.

Evidence beats guesswork.
Progress comes from what the swimmer is actually demonstrating — not what a static calendar predicted weeks ago.

BUILT FROM SWIMMING, NOT JUST TECHNOLOGY

Swimming first.
Technology second.

SwimDNA is not an AI company that happened to choose swimming. The product is built around the realities of swim training — events, race pace, aerobic development, speed, turns, underwaters, kick, recovery, equipment, life constraints, and actual athlete response.

Our methodology is informed by established swimming coaching practice, exercise physiology, strength science, and ongoing athlete feedback — combined with modern technology to make training more personal, more responsive, and more accessible.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND SWIMDNA

Built by swimmers.

Max, Co-Founder, CEO

Max grew up swimming in the Bay Area with San Jose Aquatics and continued swimming through college. For him, swimming has always been about more than performance — it builds the health, stamina, discipline, and confidence that carry into the rest of life.

He founded SwimDNA to bring smarter, more individualized training to more swimmers, while staying grounded in a simple belief: great swim training should help you perform better in the water and live better outside of it.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND SWIMDNA

Built by swimmers.

Val, Co-Founder, CTO

Val is a passionate lifelong swimmer who shares his love of the sport with his wife and brings that athlete mindset into the way he builds products. He believes great technology should support athletic performance in a way that feels intuitive, useful, and deeply human.

As CTO of SwimDNA, Val helps shape the app experience so it stays centered on the swimmer — combining thoughtful mobile product design with a commitment to building tools that help athletes perform, improve, and stay engaged over time.

Better training should be available to more swimmers.

OUR MISSION

Whether someone is chasing a championship, getting back into the pool, racing open water, or simply trying to become a better swimmer, they deserve training that understands where they are and where they want to go.

SMARTER TRAINING. A BRIGHTER SWIMMER TOMORROW.
